Russian forces have launched a ballistic missile strike on a berth at the port of Chornomorsk last week, where a civilian vessel flying the Maltese flag was docked, according to Ukraine’s deputy prime minister for restoration and minister for communities and territories development Oleksii Kuleba.

According to the government official, the vessel was preparing to carry a container cargo.
As a result of the strike, three containers were damaged, and an oil spill occurred, he noted.
Response operations have been swiftly initiated, with a containment boom being installed to contain the consequences of the spill.
