Spain seizes 13 tonnes of cocaine in banana shipment, a national record

The Spanish national police have made a record cocaine seizure after finding 13 tons of the drug hidden in a shipment of bananas in a container from Ecuador.

Officials described it as the biggest operation in the country’s history of drug trafficking.

The authorities said the drugs, which were intercepted in Algeciras, were hidden in a shipment of bananas in a container from Ecuador.

The operation, in collaboration with the Ecuadorian police, resulted in five raids and one arrest.

Spanish authorities have shared dramatic footage of a raid on a property linked to the seizing of 13 tonnes of cocaine.

The footage shows the police hammering down the entrance to a property and searching it.

During the operation, authorities carried out five raids and searches in homes and offices in Madrid and Alicante, leading to the arrest of one suspect.

Specifically, the police arrested a woman, a partner in the company that was receiving the shipment, while the two managers of the import company are said to be on the run.
