Singapore-flagged Nawata Bhum has resumed its voyage following the incident on the Hooghly River, near Nurpur Ferry Ghat, India on August 12.

The container vessel Nawata Bhum was successfully refloated on August 13 and returned to service after inspections and assessments. 

Thai based container shipping line Regional Container Lines (RCL) confirmed all crew members onboard are safe, with no injuries reported.

RCL said in its 14 August update that there was no damage to the cargo onboard. 

The vessel had departed Port Klang in Malaysia loaded with approximately 483 containers and was headed to the Port of Kolkata.

“Tugs were dispatched to refloat the vessel and she was expected to continue to Kolkata under tug assistance once refloated,” said claims specialist WK Webster on Friday.

Nawata Bhum, was built in 2008 and has gross tonnage of 9,917, deadweight of 13,852 tonnes and sails under the flag of Singapore. RCL currently owns and operates a fleet of 46 vessels with sizes ranging between 388 TEUs and 11,714 TEUs.
