Two vessels slightly collided in Bosporus last week with no injuries reported. One of the vessels drifted toward the coast following the collision.
The Turkish Directorate General of Coastal Safety (KEGM) confirmed that the ships AYED 1 and BUNUN ACE made contact last week.
Shipping claims specialist WK Webster reported that the bulk carrier BUNUN ACE (IMO: 9628570) and the AYED 1 (IMO: 9281138), came in contact at Uskudar Point, Turkey on October 3.
Following the accident, KEGM announced that due to the contact between the two vessels, their rescue tug KURTARMA-5, was promptly dispatched to the scene.
It was confirmed that only material damage occurred in the incident, and the situation is being monitored closely.
There was no loss of life or marine pollution in the incident occurred last week. The collision was captured on a video and circulated in various media outlets.
The two ships were safely escorted to the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area with the assistance of tugboats and a pilot.
