The world’s largest shipping association, Bimco, has appointed director of Contracts & Support, Stinne Taiger Ivø as the Deputy Secretary General at Bimco.

She assumes the role as of 1 January 2024 as Søren Larsen, Deputy Secretary General responsible for Bimco’s contractual work, will be retiring in May after 39 years of service.

Stinne Taiger Ivø will cover contracts and clauses in Bimco’s work within the industry, as the shipping industry is facing an increase in new regulations from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the European Union (EU) on the road to decarbonisation.

Prior to assuming her new role, Ivø was Bimco’s director of contracts and support since joining the organisation in 2022. She joined Bimco in early 2022 to lead the Contracts & Support department.

The Contracts & Clauses team develops and provides the shipping industry with contracts and clauses in close collaboration with industry representatives, and the Support & Advice department answers members’ queries about charter parties and other contracts.
