Navibulgar offers ‘full support’ in Irish drug ship investigation

Navibulgar made a rare public statement for the detention of motor vessel “Verila” in Ireland due to suspicion of participation in drug trafficking.

In the drugs case, the Bulgarian company Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Navibulgar), clarified that has not received any information from the Irish authorities regarding the detained ship.

As the company claims, there is an ongoing special operation to search the vessel in connection with suspicion of the same being used in drug trafficking.

Navibulgar said that if this is duly proved in the proceedings, it will not only constitute a serious crime, but also a gross violation of the values, internal rules, policies and procedures of Navigation Maritime Bulgare JSC (a company with a 131-year history and an impeccable reputation in the international merchant shipping).

“The management of Navigation Maritime Bulgare JSC expresses its full support to the national and international authorities fighting against drug trafficking. We will give all requested cooperation in the investigation, hoping that any guilty person will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the company concluded in its statement.
