Amsterdam-based Spliethoff, operator of a fleet of ice-classed, multipurpose and geared vessels, is expanding its fleet portfolio with two Spliethoff DP2 B-type vessels, which are considered as the next generation offshore supply vessels, with a number of versatile characteristics that makes them unique in the market.

Spliethoff Group on 1st of February 2023 was received the first of two ships, with the name “Brouwersgracht”, which was handed over from Fuzhou Mawei shipyard to the group. Its sister vessel Bloemgracht will be delivered in about three months’ time.

The two vessels, having a 12,500 mt deadweight, are already booked for their first challenging pipe supply, and offshore installation jobs until April 2024, and will be technically and commercially operated by Spliethoff Group sister companies Spliethoff and BigLift Shipping.

These type of vessels, which are outfitted with a removable automated pipe handling gantry crane, are perfect for supplying big volumes and weights of cargo directly offshore, because they have the intake of a multipurpose vessel and a high DP2 station keeping ability.

There are equipped with two Huisman 500 mt Heavy Lift Mast cranes, and meet the regulations as regards to SOx and NOx emissions, in accordance with the company.
