Grieg Green managing director Pia Meling hands over resignation

After two years as managing director of the Norwegian ship recycling expert Grieg Green, Pia Meling will leave the company in March 2025 to pursue opportunities elsewhere, reported the Grieg Maritime Group, the parent company, mentioning also that Elin Saltkjel takes over the helm.

“Pia has been an important contributor to our efforts to grow Grieg Green’s business. We are grateful for her dedication and hard work, and we wish her all the best in the future,” said GMG CEO Matt Duke.

During Pia’s management, Grieg Green has acquired ReFlow and is on the verge of launching YardScore, a tool that will ensure transparency and sustainable choices for shipowners and yards worldwide, as the Grieg Maritime Group claims.

Grieg Green’s head of technical and HSEQ, Elin Saltkjel, will take over as managing director when Pia leaves. Until then, the two will work together to ensure a smooth transition.

Elin is one of the leading experts on recycling and has been crucial in the development of YardScore – a work she will carry on as managing director.

“Grieg Green is entering one of our most important years. YardScore is soon ready for a market launch; we will further promote and develop ReFlow and position ourselves for what we expect to be a resurgence in the recycling market. Grieg Green will continue to grow and flourish under Elin’s lead,” noted Matt Duke.
