Finland’s Oy Hacklin Ltd takes a considerable stake in the Finnish short sea operator Oy Nordic Chartering Ab with the aim to expand its scope of business in the logistics sector.
The family-owned company Hacklin, established in Port of Pori, Finland in 1908, joins as a shareholder in Nordic Chartering. This partnership will “build a strong foundation for future vessel investments,” Hacklin says in its announcement.
As it is reported, the companies are working in different logistics sectors and will continue working under their own brand.
Since its establishment in 1908, the Hacklin Group has grown into a global service provider offering versatile freight forwarding and logistics services.
Today Hacklin Group´s companies in Helsinki, Hamina, Kotka, Hong Kong and Shanghai are specialized in project cargo, freight forwarding, warehousing services in Finland as well as logistics solutions in bulk handling.
In the past Hacklin has also been a shipowner, investing in its first vessel already over 100 years ago. The latest shipping operation flying the Hacklin company flag was a container feeder service between Finland and Hamburg operated by Hacklin Seatrans 1986 – 2018.
On the other hand, Nordic Chartering is a privately owned Finnish short sea operator established in 2003.
Since the start the company has operated with own tonnage and time-chartered vessels between 3000-5000 DWCC.
