Denmark’s Norden Christian Vinther Christensen, chief operating officer, freight services & trading has decided to step down.

Norden now will move into an internal reorganisation with a new team to lead the company’s freight services & trading business unit.

Rasmus Saltofte and Søren Tolbøll, formerly head of handysize worldwide and head of tankers, become head of dry and head of tankers, respectively, taking on joint leadership of NORDEN’s asset light business unit FST, reporting to CEO Jan Rindbo.

As it is reported by the company, the changes are effective immediately.

Jan Rindbo, chief executive officer, said: “Christian Vinther Christensen has played a pivotal role in the transformation of Norden into the modern, global and data-driven company that we are today, helping to shape the platform for growth, which we can now further develop.

“A heartfelt thank you to Christian for the role he has played in our journey and best wishes for your next chapter.”

Christian Vinther Christensen, highlighted the fact that, “I’ve been extremely happy during my time at Norden and so proud of everyone who took part in our transformation. We’ve prepared NORDEN for the future and with the new FST management team in place, I feel very comfortable leaving it in your capable hands. Now it’s time for me to give some time back to my family and eventually look for new ways to challenge myself outside daily management.”

Rasmus and Søren both joined Norden as shipping trainees in the mid-2000s and have since held a variety of roles across HQ and Norden’s global offices, bringing with them a deep-rooted understanding of the company and strong commercial mindsets, as Norden explains in its statement.

“I want to extend a warm welcome to Rasmus and Søren as they join our senior management team and take on the role of taking our FST business unit to the next level, further strengthening our commercial focus and customer service,” added Jan Rindbo.
