UK’s shipbroking company SSY has sealed a deal to buy a Scandinavian brokerage, Grieg Shipbrokers, which will become part of SSY, effective January 2026.
SSY said in a statement on Friday that it has agreed terms to acquire Grieg Shipbrokers.
Under the agreement, Grieg Shipbrokers’ chief executive officer Morten Müller will continue to manage and grow the business.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Furthermore, the Grieg brand is not part of the deal as the company will be incorporated into the SSY infrastructure.
Since its inception in 1884, Grieg Shipbrokers has built a strong position across a range of sectors including LPG, maritime finance, offshore, sale & purchase, aquaculture, tankers and dry bulk.
Grieg Shipbrokers is a 50-person firm of broking experts with offices in Oslo, Bergen and London.
SSY believes that this acquisition will further complement its already significant portfolio of broking services.
Stanko Jekov, managing partner SSY, commented: “Today’s announcement represents an important day for both Grieg Shipbrokers and SSY.
“Both firms have forged similar paths over the years. Both firms are leaders in their respective fields with proud histories that date back more than a century. But more importantly, both firms are committed to providing the best possible service to their respective client base.”
