The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has revealed a list of ship captains it claims are involved “in the export of stolen Ukrainian grain” from the occupied territories.

In the war and sanctions portal, the Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence has published data on captains allegedly transporting, as it claims, “stolen Ukrainian grain.”

In the section “marine vessels” the “captains” tab is open with the identification data of more than three dozen ship captains.

By revealing their names, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine says that it reminds “that responsibility and punishment will catch up with everyone.”

“According to the ship’s documents (bills of lading), the captain has all the information about the cargo and its owner,” the war and sanctions portal says.

“It is the captains who, in violation of international law and the SOLAS Convention, disable and manipulate the AIS system, carry out STS transmissions with sanctioned vessels and cargo, escort vessels to closed ports of sanctioned countries, the TOT of Ukraine, enter inaccurate information in the log of routes, vessel berths, etc.,” it adds.

In the portal it is explained that “they can refuse to commit illegal acts, but they choose to make money on war and suffering.”

An official from Ukraine pointed out in the X (former twitter) that the same approach will apply to oil.

“The next are captains of vessels transporting weapons for Russia, fossil fuels and other goods through international waters and straits in violation of sanctions restrictions.”
