The French headquartered maritime operator Jifmar Group (Jifmar) announced on LinkedIn the acquisition of the 2012-built multi-purpose tug Jif Alizé, previously operated by the Rouen-based company Thomas Services Maritimes (TSM).
The Jif Alizé will continue to operate under the French flag also under the new Jifmar ownership.
With this acquisition, Jifmar’s fleet now comprises 83 vessels under management, with the company reinforcing its position in the workboat segment, following the recent integration of Acta Marine and Seacontractors’ workboat activities.
The Jif Alizé was selected by Jifmar for her sought-after technical features, including DP1 dynamic positioning, FiFi firefighting capability, onboard accommodation and a bollard pull close to 60 tonnes, as these capabilities make her a strong asset for demanding offshore operations, particularly within the energy sector, a statement issued via social media platform LinkedIn read.
“The Jif Alizé fully aligns with our fleet development strategy, offering unique capabilities and versality that are highly valued by our clients,” said Jean-Michel Berud, president of Jifmar Group.
