Union Bulk A/S, the Copenhagen-based dry bulk shipping and freight trading company operating primarily in the handysize and handymax segments, announced through a social media post that “they have passed a big milestone by becoming shipowners.”

The company purchased and took over its long-term time charter period vessel “Hinase”, a 28.386 dwt handysize bulkcarrier, built in 2011 at the Japanese Imabari Shipbuilding.

Union Bulk A/S was established in March 2019 and founded by Anders Svarrer and Jens Boesen backed by private equity, and is domiciled and registered in Hellerup, Denmark.

Since its inception, it worked as a drycargo vessel operator and freight trading company, operating mainly in the handysize and handymax segments.

The company reveals that it usually employs 15-25 vessels in the handysize and handymax segments with the agility to increase, and decrease capacity, and exposure in line with market views and needs.
