Norway’s maritime group BOA signed a contract with Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co. in China for the construction of its in-house designed BOABARGE 39, with an additional option of BOABARGE 40.

BOA said that the delivery of BOABARGE 39 is expected in the third quarter of 2026, adding that this order marks a significant step forward in its commitment to expand its fleet to meet future market requirements.

The new BOABARGE 39/40 is engineered to support a wide range of operations across multiple industries, as its capabilities make it ideal for load-out and float-off operations, heavy-load transportation, drydocking, salvage operations, and decommissioning projects.

The barge dimensions are 166 x 73.38 x 9.15 m, with a submerging capacity of 22.5 m water above deck, and a heavy cargo capacity of approximately 57.500 t.

“We are excited to partner with Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co. for the construction of BOABARGE 39,” pointed out Ole Bjørnevik, CEO at BOA.
