Monaco-based C Transport Maritime (CTM) took delivery on Wednesday of a 63,500 dwt newbuild ultramax bulk carrier, named Aquapride at the Shin Kasado shipyard in Japan. The delivery ceremony was attended by the company’s CFO, Luigi Pulcini and by the director of sale & purchase, Paolo de Benedictis.

The new vessel has been taken in on a long-term time charter from Japanese owners and will join the Supramax Revenue Sharing Agreement (RSA) pool, contributing to CTM’s efforts in rejuvenating its fleet.

It’s worth noting that the name of the ship Aquapride has historical relevance for CTM and it is the second ultramax vessel that the company has managed bearing the name. The first vessel was a 61,000 dwt also built in Japan (at Iwagi Zosen) in 2012 that exited CTM’s management in 2018.

CTM currently has around 140 bulk carriers under its commercial and technical management from Handysize up to Newcastlemax.

The company’s Supramax RSA celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. During that time, CTM has managed over 170 vessels and generated over $2.2 billion in revenue, while it carried over 191 million tonnes of cargo, concluded over 3,300 fixtures and fixed vessels out for over 167,000 days.

In CTM’s Supramax Revenue Sharing Agreement (RSA), all of the vessels are run together and the incomes generated are distributed to the members according to the revenue earning capabilities of their vessels within the agreement.
