South Korea’s DH Shipbuilding has won another order in March, bringing the total of orders to 10-ships since the start of 2026.

According to the suezmax specialist, the company has secured 10 ships this year with six orders in January, two in February, another on March 16, and an additional contract just four days later.

Specifically, DH Shipbuilding signed on March 20 a construction contract with an Africa-based shipowner for one suezmax-class crude oil tanker valued at approximately 134 billion KRW. This latest order resulted from the shipowner exercising an option clause, following an initial contract signed in January.

With 10 suezmax-class tankers secured by mid-March, DH Shipbuilding’s total order book has expanded to 34 vessels. This provides approximately 3.5 years of stable workload, according to DH Shipbuilding, allowing the company to further strengthen its “selective winning strategy” focused on high-profitability projects.

“DH Shipbuilding is establishing itself as the ‘shipyard of choice’ for both existing and new shipowners amid the tanker market boom,” said Gi-bong Jin, head of sales at DH Shipbuilding. “The exercise of this additional option is a direct result of the immense trust from our clients and our overwhelming competitiveness in the market.”

The newly ordered vessel will be an eco-friendly ship equipped with a scrubber to reduce sulfur oxide emissions. It is scheduled for delivery to the shipowner by June 2029.
