Belgium-based shipowner Exmar has revealed it has opened a new French entity. In a third quarter results for 2024, the company said it has opened a new French entity, EXMAR LPG France, which will own and operate six newbuildings, being constructed at HMD MIPO dockyard in Korea.

The vessels are dual fuel LPG/NH3 midsize gas carriers (MGC) and will be constructed in South Korea.

No financial details have been disclosed about the six newbuildings.

However, in its half year 2024 report, the owner said that of the six existing newbuilds placed with HMD in South Korea, Exmar has confirmed that four newbuilds will be delivered in 2026-2027 with an ammonia dual fuel engine.

Furthermore, in the quarter results statement the company mentioned that it has sold and delivered one midsize gas carrier (MGC) Warinsart and has sold four fully pressurized ships named Sabrina, Helane, Magdalena, Debbie, for delivery throughout the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.

EXMAR is a shipowner in the transportation of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ammonia (NH3) and petrochemical gases.
