Denmark’s IceChem Tankers will expand its fleet portfolio with two new 19,700 mt dwt stainless steel chemical tankers.
The company said the MH Future is built in 2024, and the MH Shogun will be delivered to IceChem as a newbuilding early in 2025.
Both units are having a 19,727-dwt and are Marshall Islands-flagged.
The ships are secured on multiple-year time charters, IceChem Tankers said, which expects to take commercial control of the ships shortly.
“The ships are highly efficient with one of the market’s lowest carbon emission footprints and will be a great addition to the flexible and high-quality service provided to our valued customers,” reads the IceChem Tankers statement.
IceChem Tankers was founded in 2018 to provide commercial pool management services for its partners who entrusted the company with a fleet of 10 x coated and 1A ice classed chemical tankers, ranging from 15,000 to 25,000 dwt.
