Norwegian Car Carriers AS (NOCC) is reported to be embarking on fleet expansion with the addition of more car carriers.
The Oslo-based owner has contracted two 7,000-ceu car carriers for delivery in 2025, according to its post on social media.
The ships will be constructed at CIMC Raffles Shipyard to run on dual fuel-LNG type.
“NOCC is happy to announce that it has entered into an agreement with CIMC Raffles Shipyard in China for the construction of two car carrier newbuildings with a capacity of 7,000 CEU,” the Norwegian company said in a short post.
The vessels will be dual fuel-LNG type and ammonia ready basis a D-Notation from DNV.
The company expects to take delivery of the first vessel next year 2025.
In 2014, NOCC were acquired by private equity investors and was delisted from the Oslo Stock Exchange.
The company is today a private company and fully owned by a company advised by JP Morgan Global Alternative’s Global Transportation Group.
