The Chinese shipbuilder China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng conducted on the 17th of March a grand naming ceremony for two FKAB designed 10,600 DWT product/chemical tankers ordered by UK-based owner Pritchard-Gordon Tankers (PGT).
The event witnessed the participation of PGT family members Alice Wingfield Digby, Emily Aird, Ben Stoop, Henry Keane, and Rory Aird.
The Godmother Alice Wingfield Digby christened the first vessel “Lettie PG” while Emily Aird christened the second vessel “Agnes PG“.
In accordance with PGT tradition, all vessels are named after female family members, with Lettie and Agnes being granddaughters of founder Giles Pritchard-Gordon. Alice and Emily, daughters of Mr. Giles and aunts to Lettie and Agnes, jointly cut the champagne ribbon.
Also present were shipbrokers Affinity and Intlco, PGT financiers Mifuku Kaiun and Kagawa Bank, the supervision company Seaquest, classification society DNV and Swedish based ship designer FKAB.
The ship designer FKAB states that the designed is with Loa 126.9m, beam 22m, design draft 6.5m, and a number of green and energy efficiency solutions such as most advanced propulsion package, methanol fuel ready, shaft generator, battery pack, high-voltage shore power for cargo discharging and solar panels etc.
