Kampen, Netherlands-headquartered family-owned business Thecla Bodewes Shipyards has won a four-ship order for its new GADUS design vessels.
It has been placed by Navigare Shipping, which has begun a major fleet renewal drive with the shipbuilding contract in the Netherlands.
Navigare Shipping are ship owners located on Faroe Islands, and are partners in Navigare Logistics AS. The family-owned company runs in 3rd generation and is today a fully integrated ship owning company.
The shipowner confirmed the deal, mentioning that the deal for four new vessels marks the start of a major fleet renewal process for Navigare Shipping & Logistics, and symbolises a big step towards a more sustainable future.
The vessels will be built to Thecla Bodewes Shipyards GADUS 5600 design. The shipbuilder says the design is “crafted to revolutionize cargo transportation and embodies efficiency, sustainability, and versatility like never before.”
It also claims that with the “precision engineering design,” the vessel optimizes efficiency at every turn.
They will feature diesel-electric propulsion and advanced automation and control systems. As it is reported, the first two GADUS vessels for Navigare Shipping will be delivered in 2026.
