Shipping Telegraph reported beginning November 2024 about Norway’s offshore specialist Sea1 Offshore having placed an order of two high-end Offshore Energy Support Vessels, and yesterday Sea1 Offshore announce that it has entered into shipbuilding contracts with Cosco Shipping for two additional vessels.
The scheduled delivery for the additional two vessels is from third quarter 2027 to fourth quarter 2027 as the company informs.
The vessels are based on a similar design (ST-245 design) as the first two vessels and will have capabilities to serve both oil & gas and renewable markets.
They are methanol-ready, and the generators can operate on 100% biofuel. The 120-meters-long ships, with a cargo deck of 1,400 square meters and each ship will feature a 250-tonne deck crane and provide accommodations for up to 120 personnel.
