The Swedish-based ship designer FKAB Marine design (FKAB) has announced that one of its FKAB T53 designed tankers has reached the water.
The 6700-dwt stainless steel chemical tanker Solstraum, owned by Norwegian shipowner Utkilen A/S and built by Turkish shipbuilder Icdas, was succesfully launched on May 9, 2025.
FKAB mentions that this vessel is designed for unrestricted worldwide operation. Classified by Bureau Veritas, the vessel has Ice class 1A, uses LNG/LBG fuel, and has a very optimized hull form with a patented F-Bow.
