Yangzijiang Shipbuilding secures shipbuilding contracts US$2.63bn worth

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd had secured shipbuilding contracts for another twenty-one vessels, with a total contract value of US$2.63bn.

This follows the new orderbook update in its third quarter 2024 business update released on November 7.

The contracts comprise six units of LNG dual-fuel 17,000 teu containerships, six units of methanol dual-fuel 13,000 teu containerships, four units of 39,000-dwt medium range (MR) oil tankers, two units of 4,300 teu containerships and three units of 45,000-dwt bulk carriers.

Following its new contract wins, the group had secured a total of 119 effective shipbuilding contracts year to date with an aggregate value of US$14.27bn.

The contracts are primarily scheduled for deliveries between 2027 and 2029.

According to Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd release, the contracts do not have any significant impact on the earnings of the Group for the financial year ending December 31.
