CMB.TECH gains $20.4m from suezmax sale as fleet rejuvenation continues

The Belgium-based CMB.TECH NV has sold one suezmax, generating a capital gain of approximately $56.9m.

The company has sold the 156,851-dwt suezmax Bristol (2024-built) under its oil tanker brand Euronav, which is engaged in marine transport and crude oil storage.

The sale will generate a capital gain of around $56.9m in the fourth quarter of 2026, based on the net sale price and book values.

The vessel will be delivered to its new owner in the fourth quarter of 2026. CMB.TECH NV did not reveal the sale price or buyer.

The deal follows the June sale of the 156,851-dwt suezmax pair Brest and Brugge, both built in 2023. The sale will generate a capital gain of approximately $100.5m in the third quarter of 2026, based on the net sale price and book values.

Earlier this month, the company also announced the sale of the 299,999-dwt VLCC Donoussa (2016-built), clinching a spectacular capital gain from the 10-year-old vessel.

The sale will reportedly generate a capital gain of around $74.4m in the fourth quarter of 2026, based on the net sale price and book values.

The VLCC Donoussa will be delivered to its new owner in the fourth quarter of 2026.

CMB.TECH has a combined fleet of about 250 vessels: dry bulk vessels, crude oil tankers, chemical tankers, container vessels and offshore energy vessels. The group also offers hydrogen and ammonia fuel to customers, through own production or third-party producers.

CMB.TECH is headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium, and has offices across Europe, Asia and Africa.
