The New York-listed product tanker owner Scorpio Tankers has secured three-year time charter-out agreements for three product tankers.
The Emanuele A. Lauro-led company disclosed that the fixtures cover two LR2 vessels and one MR product tanker.
The agreements for the LR2 product tankers STI Gladiator and STI Jermyn are each for a term of three years at rates of $40,188 per day and $42,500 per day, respectively.
The STI Gladiator has a 113,000 dwt, built in 2017, while the STI Jermyn has a 109,999-dwt, built in 2016.
These time charters are expected to begin in September 2026.
On the other hand, the agreement for the MR product tanker STI Pontiac is for a term of three years at a rate of $23,900 per day. The STI Pontiac has a 49,990-dwt, built in 2015.
This time charter is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Currently, Scorpio Tankers owns 75 product tankers (25 LR2 tankers, 36 MR tankers and 14 handymax tankers) with an average age of 10.2 years.
The company has reached agreements or letters of intent for five MR newbuildings that are currently under construction with deliveries expected in 2027 and 2030, six LR2 newbuildings with deliveries expected in 2027 and 2029 and two VLCC newbuildings with deliveries expected in 2028.
