Meyer Werft announced that the final handover over of its newest build cruise ship, the “Silver Nova”, to the shipping company Silversea Cruises (Monaco/Miami) took place yesterday in Eemshaven, the Netherlands.
Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO, Jason Liberty, joined Silversea President Barbara Muckermann, executives including Bernard Meyer from Meyer Werft, and other esteemed guests to officially welcome the 12th ship in our fleet.
The “Silver Nova” has space for 728 passengers and is the company’s first LNG (liquid natural gas) powered cruise ship including the ability to plug into shore power while docked. This means that in each destination, this forward-thinking vessel aims to emit zero emissions Silversea Cruises said in a statement.
She will make her maiden voyage on August 14, sailing round-trip from Venice over seven days it was mentioned.
Barbara Muckermann, the president of Silversea, says that “She is a beauty, and I can’t wait to personally greet out guests on board, introducing them to the future of ultra-luxury cruise travel.”
