RoRo vessel Stena Livia

New Zealand ferry operator StraitNZ Bluebridge announce in their social media, that the company have purchased the RoRo vessel Stena Livia from Swedish based Stena Line for their Cook Strait services in New Zealand.

The vessel is currently operating between Germany and Latvia,and will be delivered to StraitNZ Bluebridge in August this year.

The RoRo Stena Livia is a sister ship to StraitNZ Bluebridge’s vessel Connemara, and the new purchased vessel will provide a 10% increase in the company’s vehicle capacity.

The Stena Livia ship will dry dock in Europe before setting sail to New Zealand and will replace the Strait Feronia towards the end of the year as the company informs.

StraitNZ Bluebridge has delivered services across the critical Cook Strait link in New Zealand since 1992.
