Tallink Grupp seals charter extension for cruise ferry to Holland

Tallink Grupp has sealed a new charter deal for continuing the charter of the company’s cruise ferry Silja Europa to Holland.

The company has announced that its subsidiary Tallink Silja OY has signed a contract with Slaapschepen Public BV, an organisation nominated by Centraal Orgaan Opvang Asielzoekers (COA) in the Netherlands, for chartering the company’s vessel Silja Europa to Holland.

The cruise vessel Silja Europa will be chartered out for six months starting from January 1, 2025, with an option to extend the contract for another 7 + 6 + 6 months at the end of the agreement period.

The company’s former Tallinn-Helsinki route cruise vessel Silja Europa has been chartered to the Netherlands since August 2022, Tallink Grupp said, to provide temporary accommodation for asylum seekers.

The vessel has been chartered out over the last few years and will be chartered according to the new agreement with Tallink Grupp’s technical crew.
