Swiss shipowner and manager Suisse-Atlantique Group S.A confirmed the order of two 40’500 dwt open-hatch, box-shaped vessels from Jiangmen Nanyang Shipyard (JNS).
No price or individual delivery dates have been disclosed for the open-hatch pair.
Together with the five 64’400 dwt ultramax vessels already ordered, this brings the group’s total orderbook at JNS to seven vessels, with deliveries scheduled between the third quarter of 2028 and the first quarter of 2029.
The company said the newbuilding program includes vessels ordered both for Suisse-Atlantique’s own account and in partnership with external investors.
Suisse-Atlantique has been entrusted with the full newbuilding supervision mandate for all seven vessels and will assume their full technical management following delivery.
“The program also demonstrates the group’s capabilities as a third-party ship manager,” Suisse-Atlantique said in a statement.
In addition to managing its own fleet, Suisse-Atlantique provides newbuilding supervision as well as long-term technical and commercial management services for vessels owned by external shipowners and investment partners.
