Taiwan’s Wisdom Marine Group made another deal with Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding for two newbuild bulk carriers.

The owner ordered in the shipyard Tsuneishi two 82,400 dwt bulk carriers.

The Taipei-based company said in a stock exchange filing that the pair of 82,400 dwt would cost up to $80m, $40 million each.

Last year the board of directors approved the purchase of two 40,000 dwt bulk carriers in Onomichi Dockyard for a total amount of up to US$66 million.

In accordance with a stock exchange filing in November the two bulk carriers will cost US$33 million each.

In October last year the 39,650 dwt newbuild vessel, Bunun Zest, joined the Wisdom fleet. The ship Bunun Zest is a NOx tier III eco-ship built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co.  

At the same period the 82,400 dwt newbuild vessel, Katagalan Brave also joined Wisdom fleet. Katagalan Brave is a NOx tier III eco-ship built by Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding.

Wisdom Marine boasts a fleet of 133 bulk carriers, comprising mainly of supramax, capsize, handy, and panamax.

The company’s fleet profile is expected to further improve in the next two-to-three years after the delivery of newbuilds.
