DHT Holdings wraps up vintage VLCC sale

New York-listed crude oil tanker company DHT Holdings has placed a VLCC on a long-term charter this month.

It said the 299,629-dwt DHT Panther (built 2016) has been fixed for a three-year time charter at $100,000 per day.

The deal is expected to begin in October 2026 and has been concluded with a global energy company.

DHT fleet trades internationally and consists of crude oil tankers in the VLCC segment. The company operates through its wholly owned management companies in Monaco, Norway, Singapore, and India.

In June 2026, the company entered into an agreement with Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd. for the construction of a VLCC. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in August 2028 and will be a sister of the two vessels the company took delivery of in the first quarter of 2026.

As of June 30, 2026, DHT had a fleet of 23 VLCCs in operation, with a total dwt of 7,164,430.
