In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates last week continued the fast-increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 9% to $4,530 per 40-foot container.
Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 7% or $290 to $4,682, and Rotterdam to Shanghai remained unchanged at $647 per 40-foot container.
The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 10% or $601 to $6,360, while Shanghai to Los Angeles also increased by 10% or $599 to $6,349. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 11% or $753 to $7,902 per 40-foot container.
Meanwhile, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained unchanged at $828, and Rotterdam to New York increased by 1% or $18 to $2,602 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week remained unchanged at $1,015 per 40-foot container.
