Greek tanker owner Performance Shipping led-by chairperson of its board Aliki Paliou has sealed through its subsidiary a time charter contract with SeaRiver Maritime LLC, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation for an aframax tanker vessel.
SeaRiver Maritime hired the 105,304 dwt LR2 aframax tanker vessel, M/T P. Aliki, built in 2010.
The shipowner fixed the vessel for a period of seven months +/- 15 days at the option of the charterer.
The vessel is chartered for a gross charter rate of US$33,500 per day and is expected to commence at the beginning of December.
The Nasdaq-listed owner said the employment of M/T P. Aliki is anticipated to bring to the company around US$6.6m of gross revenue for the minimum duration of the charter.
Andreas Michalopoulos, CEO of Performance Shipping, said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured this time charter with SeaRiver Maritime LLC, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, one of the world’s leading oil majors.
“This agreement is a testament to the high standards of operational excellence we consistently deliver and reflects the confidence that charterers place in our vessels and management practices.
“We look forward to further strengthening this collaboration and continuing to deliver exceptional value to our stakeholders.”
