Lefka Ori ferry

Attica Group, a long-standing Greek shipping company operating across domestic and international routes, has reported the sale of a ro-pax vessel for €8.3m.

Specifically, Attica Holdings S.A. has announced the sale of the ro-pax vessel Lefka Ori, owned by a subsidiary of the company, for a total consideration of 8.3m euros.

The company said the transaction generated a gain of €4.9m, which will be recorded in the group’s financial results for the second half of 2026.

The Lefka Ori is a passenger ship that can carry up to 1,488 passengers and 780 vehicles. Built in 1987, the 6005-dwt passenger/ro-ro ship (vehicles) was renamed Daleela Express.

According to Attica Group, the fleet renewal programme continues steadily, introducing newer and more energy-efficient vessels to replace older units, while the shipbuilding and investment programme aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing the fleet’s environmental footprint remains ongoing.

Within this framework, the average age of the vessels operating in the Saronic Gulf has been reduced to 5.8 years from 18 years.

In the Adriatic Sea, following the deployment of SUPERFAST V and the delivery of the two newbuild vessels currently under construction in 2027, the average age of the fleet is expected to decline to 8.6 years, compared to 24.8 years previously.

At the organisational level, the Group is proceeding with the simplification of its corporate structure by consolidating its ferry operations into two companies, one for Greek coastal shipping and one for international routes.

The consolidation of international route operations into a single company from four previously has already been completed, while the corresponding process for Greek domestic services is expected to be completed by year-end.
