Cyprus’ Robin Energy adds exposure to VLCC segment

Limassol-based ship-owning company Robin Energy participated in the private placement of Volare Shipping, a newly established shipping company listed on Euronext Growth Oslo Børs.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Nasdaq-listed Robin Energy said it purchased 90,000 shares at the offering price of NOK 154.

“The investment underpins the current strong market fundamentals for the crude tanker sector reflected in record VLCC earnings, while time charter rates confirm the structural tightening on the back of ongoing geopolitical disruption and longer travel distances for the crude tanker fleet,” reads the company’s announcement.

Volare Shipping, the Trafigura Group company established to own, operate and scale a modern fleet of oil tankers, commenced trading on October 5, 2026, on Euronext Growth Oslo. The company’s fleet, comprising six very large crude carriers (VLCCs) on the water and eight newbuild vessels on order, delivering progressively through to 2028, is commercially managed by Trafigura’s global shipping business.

Established and majority-owned by Trafigura, Volare Shipping is incorporated in Singapore.

On the other hand, Robin Energy’s fleet comprises two LPG carriers that carry petrochemical gases and refined petroleum products worldwide.
