Greece’s Alpha Gas takes delivery of new LNG carrier

The Greek-based shipping firm Alpha Gas S.A. has taken delivery of the LNG carrier Energy Fortitude, built by Hyundai Samho (HSHI).

According to a statement by Alpha Gas, this delivery adds another LNG carrier to its fleet of wholly owned vessels under its in-house commercial and technical management.

Alpha Gas S.A. operates a fleet of eight LNG carriers with diverse and highly efficient main engine technologies (TFDE, MEGI and XDF).

Energy Fortitude is the last vessel out of three to be delivered by HSHI under the company’s most recent LNG project.

She is propelled with XDF engines, has a cargo carrying capacity of 174,000 cbm, and equipped with the latest technologies including a high capacity and highly efficient full reliquefaction system, air lubrication system (ALS), two shaft generators (PTOs) and air resistance shield.

Energy Fortitude was delivered from the yard straight into her first employment (long-term charter) with a Far East-based charterer.

Alpha Gas did not provide any additional information.
