Abu Dhabi’s energy maritime logistics firm ADNOC Logistics & Services plc is investing $324m (AED 1,190m) in three VLGC newbuildings, as it continues its fleet expansion programme.
ADNOC L&S ordered an additional three new 90,000 cbm very large gas carriers for a total investment of $324m.
The delivery of the vessels is scheduled to take place in the second half of 2029. Upon delivery, they will be deployed on a seven-year contract with ADNOC Global Trading (AGT).
The shipyard has not been disclosed.
The latest order comes almost two months after ADNOC L&S announced the exercise of options for two additional next-generation LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, China, for a total value of $444m. Each vessel has a capacity of 175,000 m³, with delivery scheduled in 2029.
In July, the company ordered four 175,000 m³ LNG carriers with a total value of approximately $900m. The vessels, with delivery scheduled for 2029, will be constructed at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai.
The company also spent around $1.3bn (AED 4.8bn) for the acquisition of five very large gas carriers (VLGCs) and six very large crude carriers (VLCCs).
