Fleet Management´s tally of LNG carriers fuelled by LNG is on the rise. Hong Kong-based shipowner Fleet Management has added to its fleet portfolio two new LNG carriers, Energy Spirit and Arrow Spirit, increasing its fleet to 17 LNG carriers fuelled by LNG.
The first newbuild vessel Energy Spirit, built in France, is one of the first LNG carriers built with the energy-efficient dual fuel diesel electric propulsion system that significantly reduces fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
She is also one of the first vessels to have a cargo tank made by GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) using CS1 technology, which helps to store the cargo efficiently.
It’s worth noting that Energy Spirit plays a pivotal role in the supply chain of LNG in southern Europe by supplying liquified natural gas to Spain, France and Italy.
The second LNG carrier Arrow Spirit is designed to maintain a low BOG (boil-off gas) of 0.15%, which contributes to significant cost savings and greater economic return for charterers, as the company claims.
This vessel also has cargo tanks made by GTT and is one of the highest-speed LNG tankers built at Imabari Shipyard in Japan.
With these two new additions, Fleet Management Limited has in total 17 LNG carriers fuelled by LNG, with seven vessels under its technical management and ten more under its newbuilding supervision.
Fleet Management Limited provides a comprehensive range of ship management services to cargo ship owners worldwide.
