Oman-based shipowner Asyad Shipping, part of logistic company Asyad Group, and state-owned Oman LNG has sealed a long-term deal chartering two modern 5th generation 174,000 cubic meters capacity liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
No time period or economics mentioned in the social media statement, but this deal confirms Asyad’s commitment to boost local added value through partnering with Omani production and export companies, by positioning Oman as a strategic logistics hub for major global energy players.
Shipping Telegraph reported on January 17 that Asyad Shipping had sealed an agreement deal with the Korean shipyard Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries to build and deliver two fifth generation liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers in 2026, and that the newbuilding deal was set to grow Asyad Group’s shipping fleet to 70 vessels.
