Norway’s Bower Offshore (Bower) has announced the purchase and renaming of the vessel Songa Commander to Bower Commander.
Since 2023 Bower has managed the vessel commercially and technically on behalf of Blystad Group.
The Bower Commander is a robust high-end PSV built in 2010 by Norwegian Hellesøy shipyard. The vessel is currently running on a long-term drilling support contract with Adura until July 2027 with option of extension.
The current crew of Bower Commander will continue which creates a seamless transition for all parties involved. Combined with our knowledge and experience with the vessel, crew and contracts this is a sound purchase.
Bower Offshore informs that it operates six vessels in the offshore energy market across oil, gas, renewables in European waters.
Karl Johan Bakken, CEO Bower Offshore, says that “The acquisition is a further step in our strategy to grow with our own tonnage and continue developing an integrated shipping company in the offshore energy market, rooted in the Norwegian maritime cluster.”
