Monaco-based Eneti, led-by Emanuele A. Lauro, a provider of installation and maintenance vessels to the offshore wind sector, has confirmed that Seajacks UK Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has signed a contract with an undisclosed client to assist with the installation of wind turbines.
With mobilization commencing in 2024, the contract will be performed by the company’s NG14000X-class vessel, Seajacks Scylla.
Inclusive of mobilization and demobilization, the contract is expected to be between 442 and 655 days and generate approximately $113m to $167m of gross revenue.
According to the company, there are no material project costs or transit costs related to the contract.
Emanuele Lauro, chief executive of Eneti, said, “We are delighted to have secured this significant contract for Seajacks Scylla, which supports the strategy of deploying our vessels on contracts that reflect the improving fundamentals in our core market of offshore wind turbine installation.”
Eneti´s chief executive also confirmed in September, as Shipping Telegraph reported, that Seajacks UK Limited, signed a vessel reservation agreement with an undisclosed client to transport and install turbines.
Eneti said at that time that project costs are expected to be $15 million in aggregate.
Mobilisation starts in the first quarter of 2027. New-York listed Eneti revealed the contract will be performed by one of the company’s two NG16000X wind turbine installation vessels.
The ships are currently under construction at Hanwha Ocean in South Korea.
