Residential structures and a gas pipeline in the river and seaport of Mykolaiv were damaged by falling debris from a downed drone and the blast wave.
Ukraine’s southern defence forces said on Telegram that its air defence systems were engaged for more than five hours and destroyed 26 Russia-launched Shahed drones over several regions.
In Mykolaiv, one of the coastal facilities was hit and a fire broke out. At least one civilian was injured, the defence forces said.
“The priority for the enemy was again the coastal strip of infrastructure and agro-industrial facilities,” the military said.
As it is reported, Russia launched a drone attack on Mykolaiv, hurting at least one civilian and causing damage to residential buildings, a gas pipeline, and the river and seaport of Mykolaiv.
“At night, in the operational zone of Ukraine’s Southern Defence Forces, the enemy launched another massive drone attack. The intense work of air defence units lasted for more than 5.5 hours. The enemy’s priority was again the coastal strip of infrastructure and agro-industrial facilities. As a result of hitting one of them, a fire broke out in Mykolaiv, the blast wave damaged nearby residential buildings, private vehicles of local residents and a gas pipeline,” the Ukraine’s southern defence forces post said, as reported by the national news agency of Ukraine, Ukrinform.
“Combat operations resulted in the downing of 26 Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones: 18 in the Mykolaiv region, 4 in the Odesa region and 1 each in the Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions,” the southern defence forces added.
As informed, Russian combat drones attacked Mykolaiv on the night of February 11. A series of explosions rang out in the city.
