The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted firefighting and rescue operations in response to a maritime incident involving a passenger-cargo vessel Mv Esperanza Star, which caught fire in the vicinity waters off Panglao, Bohol in the Philippines yesterday.
Based on the initial investigation, the distressed vessel had approximately 120 passengers and crew members on board when it departed from Port of Lazi, Siquijor, to Port of Tagbilaran, Bohol in the Philippines.
According to Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Central Visayas, the fire was declared extinguished at around 10AM local time and at this time no mentioning of casualties of passengers or crew.
