The Stamford-based Eagle Bulk Shipping, a shipowner and operator within the midsize drybulk segment, announced that one of its bulkers has completed a voyage using biofuel.
The vessel Stamford Eagle completed the voyage using GoodFuels MDF1-100 sustainable biofuel, providing an approximately 80% reduction in net well-to-wake CO2 emissions compared to equivalent fossil fuel.
Eagle noted that this was a meaningful reduction in the company’s scope 1 emissions and Eramet’s scope 3 emissions.
“This most recent biofuel voyage demonstrates our ability to partner with charterers who share our commitment to sustainability initiatives and emissions reductions”, Eagle Bulk Shipping said in a statement in the social media.
The U.S shipowner announced the “completion of a sustainable biofuel voyage with its partners, Eramet and Eramet Norway, on the M/V Stamford Eagle”, as mentioned in a statement by the company, adding that, “the vessel is sailing on 100% sustainable biofuel near Sauda in Norway’s pristine Sandsfjord”.
It is worth mentioning that Eagle Bulk Shipping, a shipowner and operator within the midsize drybulk segment, has completed the transfer of its stock listing to the New York Stock Exchange from the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
It is worth mentioning that Eagle’s CEO Gary Vogel commented in December, that the decision to transfer to the New York Stock Exchange, will further improve the company´s trading liquidity, and overall standing within the financial markets, enhancing value for its shareholders.
