Five men are presented today in a preliminary statutory hearing in connection with the death on a fishing cutter. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for today at the Court in Holstebro, Denmark, in connection with a death on a fishing cutter, which is now in the harbor of Thyborøn, Denmark.
The Central and West Jutland Police received on Monday morning at 05.12 a report that a crew member on a fishing cutter located in the North Sea was lifeless. The lifeless man was flown ashore by helicopter on Monday morning and pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
The circumstances of the death were considered suspicious by the police, and further investigation needed.
Due to the weather, it was not possible to get the ship and crew into port until Wednesday evening. It has also not been possible to get the police on board the ship.
After the fishing cutter arrived in port on Wednesday evening, the crew has been questioned.
The five crew members will be arraigned today at 13 p.m. on charges of manslaughter.
In connection with the hearing, the prosecution will request that the doors be closed.
The Central and West Jutland Police are present at the port in Thyborøn, where, among others, the police’s forensic technicians are examining the ship.
For the sake of the investigation, the police is not providing any further information on the case at this time.
