The Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping led the Palios family, a shipping specialist in the ownership and bareboat charter-in of dry bulk vessels, has announced today that has sealed a deal to buy an Ultramax dry bulk vessel for US$27.9 million.
The New-York listed company has signed a Memorandum of Agreement to acquire from an unaffiliated third party the 2016-built Ultramax dry bulk vessel Nord Potomac, which is of 63,379 deadweight, for a purchase price of US$27.9 million.
The Athens-based dry bulk owner expects to take delivery of the vessel by the beginning of April 2023.
The shipowner states, that excluding the newly acquired vessel, Diana´s fleet currently consists of 41 dry bulk vessels (4 Newcastlemax, 10 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax and 7 Panamax and 9 Ultramax).
From today, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet, excluding the vessel not yet delivered, is approximately 4.7 million deadweight with a weighted average age of 9.87 years.
