The Norway-based offshore shipping company Solstad Offshore ASA, confirmed that Normand Ships AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Solstad Offshore ASA, has delivered the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Jarl to the new owner. The delivery is in according with the terms described in a stock exchange announcement made on 12 December 2022, as the company highlights.

Solstad Offshore will recognize a gain on the sale of approximately NOK 420 million to be reflected in the first quarter of 2023 accounts.

The shipping telegraph has reported in December that Norway´s Solstad Offshore ASA have sold the construction support vessel (CSV) “Normand Jarl” to an unnamed buyer outside of the offshore industry.

The company at that time was expecting a gain on the sale of approximately NOK 420 million, to be reflected in the first quarter of 2023 accounts, where the delivery of the vessel to the new owner is estimated to take place.

Two days ago Solstad also announced several new contracts, and contract extensions for various platform supply vessels (PSVs), and anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels.

The contracts have a combined firm duration of approximately 10 vessel years and will support various clients in the global markets. The contracts will be executed by 14 of the companies PSVs and AHTS vessels and have a value of approximately NOK 830 million.

“These new contracts reflect a continued strong market for offshore support vessels. In general, we see that commercial rates continue to improve and clients are prepared to commit to longer contracts than what we have experienced in recent years,” said Kenneth Lande, EVP Global AHTS & PSV of Solstad.
