Greek Harry N. Vafias of Imperial Petroleum, a ship-owning company providing transportation services, reported that it has sealed a deal to sell for $43 million an Aframax oil tanker.

The ship Stealth Berana was built in 2010 at Samsung shipyard, in South Korea and has a cargo carrying capacity of approximately 115,800 dwt.

The company releaved that the buyer is C3is Inc., an affiliated company, will acquire the ship for $43 million.

The top management of the company said payment of 10% of the purchase price has been received, with the remaining balance due within one year following the vessel’s delivery which took place on the 14th of July, 2023.

It was also revealed that the vessel is currently trading in the spot market.

The transaction with C3is Inc. was approved by the company’s audit committee comprising of independent directors.    

The Nasdaq-listed company currently owns five M.R. product tankers, two Suezmax tankers and two Handysize dry bulk carriers, with a total capacity of 682,200 dwt.
